We have a Sick Boy :(

Tucker and his Nurse

Tucker started feeling peekish Sunday evening ...we are thinking he picked something up at the groomers on Saturday after being there for 7 hours or they possibly fed him treats he was not used to ...he had diarrhea Sunday night and yesterday-we took a drive to LaBelle to see where the vet's office was located in case we had to make a fast run in with him. I took him off his feed and cooked him chicken and rice and he ate well last evening and again this morning. We will keep him on the rice and chicken for a few days. I also picked up some kopectate  but didn't dose him yesterday because if it is something intestinal I wanted him to pass it.
This morning his movement had some form but it wasn't normal by any means-but better than yesterday-he ate his chicken and rice with a gusto.
We will keep a close eye on him and take him in if necessary or if he doesn't continue to improve. Hes still his goofy active self..thankfully...say a prayer he gets over this..we are suppose to leave here on Friday...
Have a good day all and Happy Valentines day to each and everyone of you!

  2. It's such a worry when they're sick, I worry myself to death when one of mine are 'under the weather'. I feel so helpless. Jackson had a run in with a not so friendly Akita at the dog park the other day and got 3 small bites on his muzzle. Needless to say, it worried me sick. The fact that Tucker hasn't lost his appetite is always a good sign. Sure hope he's his old self soon.

  3. Never great to have a sick doggie, but if he's still kinda bouncy, but only has loose stool, he might have only picked up something and it'll be on it's way soon enough.
    And, Happy Valentine's Day.
    We don't "observe", btw.

  4. Bet he will be right as rain soon. Our black cocker spaniel, Beau has been throwing up the last two nights, but we are pretty sure it is because he thinks it is his sworn duty to eat everything in sight on our walks. We may have to muzzle him! We don't even see him do it The little sneaker.

  5. Sounds to me like Tucker may be on the mend as he's eating well. Sure hope he's back to his regular self in the next day or so.

  6. So sorry Tucker is not feeling well. It's hard when our fur kids are sick and can't tell us what's wrong. But, if he's eating well, that's a good sign.

  7. So sorry to hear about Tucker. He's eating though and that's the best news. Gingee is always getting into something and she doesn't ever associate it with the way she feels or how sick she gets. I hope he comes around fully shortly. When Ging has bouts of diarhea, I give her probiotics from the vet to get her back in shape.

  8. Tucker was probably stressed from being at the groomer's for so long.
He didn't know that they hadn't been 'dumped".
That sure will upset their tummies, we find that happens often if our foster dogs have to change foster parents.

Happy Tails to Tucker and Lilley, and Happy Trails to you, Penny, TX

  10. Hope Tucker feels himself again soon. We had our Lilly in for her booster shots, and the vet this year had her take two flu shots. This was a first for us, but said they should have on a yearly bases like we do.

  11. Poor Tucker. It so awful when they are unwell and we can't figure the problem. Sounds like you are on top of it though. Lots of luvies to him from the girls.

  14. I'm so sorry Tucker wasn't feeling well. I hate it when that happens with Katie, you just don't know for sure what's wrong. I hope he's back to normal soon. :)
