Today was wet and foggy although we didn't have any rain to speak of today. It is warm and we don't have to shovel the fog so we won't complain. We didn't do much today, took the furkids for a few walks around the park, read blogs and emails and pretty much lazed around. The furkids snuggled in for a nappy afternoon on the sofa. Sometime the bond these two share scares me. I worry what would happen to her if anything ever happened to him. As some of you know Lilly is almost blind. She has PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) which is a genetic disorder that the breeder apparently didn't check for, and dear Lilly inherited :( So Tucker is her seeing eye dog. And he takes his job very seriously. He watches out for her constantly and is never far from her. He seems to know somehow that she is blind and feels it is his job to take care of her. She is only 5 and he will be 2 in May.

The resident chef put on a Jambalaya Dinner at the clubhouse this evening and we attended. Banana cream pie was the desert and it was very good also. I had never had jambalaya before and I loved -it it was delicious. Janna had warned me that it could be somewhat spicy-and it was- but not as spicy as I had expected it to be. We are now settling in to watch some tv, and are hoping the weather is good tomorrow so we can get out and tour some more.
Have a super weekend everyone and be safe out there.
Home is where you park it

A foggy warm day is so much better than what you would have back home. So nice to enjoy the warm climate for sure. Gives you and chance to recharge the batteries! And not freeze your buts off. have fun!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs appear to be enjoying themselves a lot.
ReplyDeleteLarry!!! Get your mind out of the gutter..they're both fixed (not that they were broken or anything)...they're snuggling lol
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog with interest. Hubby and I just spent 3 weeks in Florida. We enjoyed Cedar Key. We also stayed 4 nights at Manatee Springs SP. They have sites that could accommodate your rig. We saw manatees every day we were there. Lots of deer and LOTS of vultures. Believe it or not they were kind of cute. You may want to check out my pictures of Cedar Key on my blog at Edandjeanne.blogspot.com. By the way the dogs are darling! Jeanne

ReplyDeleteHope the weather improves for you to see some sights...
Thanks for telling me more about the kids. I didn't know anything about them. What cuties! ~wheresweaver
ReplyDeleteI just read Janna's blog about the Jambalaya Pie and then remembered you're both at the same RV park. Hope the weather picks up a bit.
ReplyDeleteI love it when a chef knows the right balance of spice. It is always hard to enjoy the taste of something when your mouth feels like it is burning. But that wonderful balance where your taste buds get just a tingly feeling can make for great food. mmmmm Jabalaya.. yummy...
ReplyDeleteHad a friend whose dog went blind, the other furkid became a seeing eye dog for him, just as natural as could be. They are amazing at what they instinctively know. They dont hesitate, they dont shirk responsibility...they just take care of what needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteArent they wonderful.
Aww...how sweet. Tucker and Lilly are both such beautiful puppies. How nice of Tucker to take such good care of his sister. Animals are amazing.
